feel-again-one-republic1

If you’re a big fan of OneRepublic and live in West Palm Beach Florida, you don’t want to miss their show on August 17th at the Cruzan Amphitheater. The band is known for songs such as All The Right Moves, Stop And Stare, and Secrets.

The song All The Right Moves is on the band’s second album entitled Wake Up. It was released in November 11th 2009. According to songfact.com Wayne Isham directed the song’s music video, which features the band playing on a small stage for the performers of a masquerade ball. The site also states lead singer Ryan Tedder explained to Digital Spy the meaning of this song:

“It’s kind of a self-deprecating anthem and it’s about how we’ve felt as a band at certain times. When OneRepublic came out, because of the other writing and producing I’d done, and because Timbaland was associated with our first single, we got completely discarded by the critics. Even if OneRepublic made the coolest art record ever, we’d never be able to erase the memory of how we broke. This song’s aimed at all the cool-ass bands that we’ll never be.”

Stop and Stare is on OneRepulic’s debut album Dreaming Out Loud. It was released in November 20th 2007. Songfacts.com states this song is about getting stuck in a rut. OneRepublic wrote on their Myspace page that “Stop and Stare” describes the common frustration of getting to a place in life where you think, “How in the world did I end up here, this isn’t where I wanted to be, watching what I wanted pass me by.”

The third song Secrets is also off on the Wake Up album. The song was chosen due to the fact that it was used as the title song in a German movie called Zweiohrküken, the sequel to Keinohrhasen, which used their song “Apologize” as the title song according to songfacts.com.

Here are some reviews from users on ticketmaster.com who saw the group play live with Sara Bareillis as the opening act:

One Republic was awesome!!! The band had total energy from beginning to end. They rocked the Greek Theatre. Sara Bareilles was very good and sounded great.” by Jessi7ca

“Amazingly talented group of guys! Absolutely love every show I’ve been to of theirs.” by jsummer77

One Republic was everything I imagined and more! They were amazing and can’t wait to see them again! I had enjoyed some of Sara B music before but after seeing her live, I am now a huge fan and also can’t wait to see her live again!” by Claudblue

WOW is the best way of expressing Katy Perrys concert this weekend in Fort Lauderdale. I had bought the tickets for my daughters 9th birthday, my boyfriend and myself. Not only did she love it, which I knew she would, but my boyfriend as well, which he was surprised about, since he is a Rock fan. She sang beautifully, her costumes were so colorful and playful, all around entertaining. – Yesy311-

My family’s first time seeing Katy, and she didn’t disappoint. Fun, energetic, and just what you would expect from Katy. She sang her big hits and a couple of the songs from her new Prism album. I heard this was her only official concert performance for 2013, and I’m so glad we’re able to go. She made us forever fans, and made sure that we’ll be fighting for tickets whenever she comes to town again.  – DadInLA-

I’ve been to about 20 concerts so far and this was by far the best, Katy constantly showed emotion and wasn’t afraid to show her true self. She was amazing. I’m a HUGE Katy Perry fan and hope someday i can have the chance to meet her. Do yourself a favor and just try to go to one of her concerts, you definitely won’t regret it. I never wanted it to end. – katykatlover123 –

10 Best Songs of 2013

Today is officially the last day of 2013. Tonight people will party hard or just spend time with loved ones staying up till midnight welcoming 2014. A lot of many great songs have been recorded and I created a list of the ten best songs of this year. This was hard to do since there are a lot of great songs. These songs are more likely to make people sing along, get stuck in people’s head, or put them in a really good mood. Please click the links to watch the videos and enjoy.

10. Will.i.am Scream and Shout ft. Britney Spears– This is a very upbeat dance song. Will.i.am was a member of the hip-hop group the Black eyed Peas. Most of the songs he recorded with the group is catchy and fun to listen to and this song is no different.

9. Bruno Mars Locked Out of Heaven– This is another upbeat song. According to songfacts.com The song finds Mars singing of a relationship that is so good the narrator feels like he was “locked out of heaven” before he met his lover.

8. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Thrift Shop Ft.Wanz– The song makes buying discount clothes that was previously owned seem hip. The chorus of the song is catchy and can get stuck in people’s head. According to songfacts.com Macklemore was surprised when this song became a huge hit. “I wouldn’t have anticipated that a song about used clothes would be #1,” he told Rolling Stone. “I thought it was a niche song with some pop appeal – never thought it would get played on the radio, much less get where it is now.”

7. Maroon 5 Love Somebody– The song was played often on the radio this year. At some point people start singing along with the words of the song. Songfacts.com states this is one of several Overexposed tracks that Adam Levine wrote after his two year relationship with the Victoria’s Secret model Anne Vyalitsyna ended. The front man told The Sun: “We could never put out a Maroon 5 record without the love songs as that’s why we connect so well with our fans. We have fun, yes, but we speak about things we’ve all been through at some time.

6. Fun Some Nights-Some Nights is another song that was played on the radio this year. The theme for the music video was during the Civil War. According to songfacts.com The song expresses the anguish of a young man who is a long way from home, as he lies in bed at night thinking of his family members. Producer Jeff Bhasker said of Nate Ruess’ songwriting to the New York Times: “He can tackle these really dark subjects and put this pop melody to it.”

5. Roar Katy Perry– Her lyrics for this song is empowering for women to be strong and have their own voice. Songfacts.com states the song has hit #1 in 15 countries and entered the top 10 in 38 charts worldwide; it is easy to see why when looking at the fine songwriting craft on display. Of course, as with any smash hit, the song employs a great deal of repetition to ingrain itself in the listener’s head, making it hooky and memorable; however, the repetition suitably expresses the songs primary theme, which is one of empowerment.

4. Pitbull Feel This Moment Ft Christina Aguilera– The song is a nice mixture of hip-hop, dance and a little bit of pop having Christina featured in the song. The song reminds people to be in the moment and take it all in.

3. Pink Try– This is the second single off of Pink’s Truth About Love album. According to songfacts.com the song is a handclap-heavy ode to hanging onto your dreams and aspirations even if it means taking risks. “Where there is desire there is gonna be a flame,” sings Pink on the chorus. “Where there is a flame someone’s bound to be get burned. But just because it burns doesn’t mean you’re gonna die. You gotta get up and try.”

2. Justin Timberlake Mirrors– This is a heartfelt love song off of JT’s 20/20 Experience album. Songfact.com states this eight-minute vulnerable epic finds Timberlake wooing a girl. “You’re shining something like a mirror,” he sings, “and I can’t help but notice you reflecting this heart of mine.” Timberlake adds that he has come, “to the realization” that she is his “other half.”

1. Kelly Clarkson Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) –This is a motivational song stating that when a relationship ends people can be strong and move on. According to songfacts.com The title track of American Pop-Rock singer Kelly Clarkson’s fifth studio album fits in with many of the powerhouse singer’s previous empowerment-themed, Miss Independent tunes. We hear the songstress confidently tell her former beau, “You heard that I was starting over with someone. They told you I was moving on, over you. You think I’d come. I’d come back swinging. You tried to break me. But you see what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
