According to songfacts.com Chris Daughtry wrote this on his couch in North Carolina, shortly before had even appeared on the American Idol show. The site also states Daughtry’s self-titled debut was the most popular US album of 2007 selling 3.2 million copies in the States.

September is a song that is on the band’s Leave This Town album that was released in 2009.
